How to submit a Claude connector to the Anthropic directory

To submit a Claude connector, host your MCP server remotely, then submit it from your Claude organization settings with a name, tagline, description, categories, auth details and test credentials for Anthropic's review. You need a Team or Enterprise plan with directory permission.

Servers that pass review join the directory as community connectors, and some get a slower verified review later. The most common reasons for failure are missing tool hints and broken auth. Any Claude account can add your server as a custom connector first, so test there before you submit.

Before you submit a Claude connector

Six things to have ready.

  • A remote MCP server. Hosted on HTTPS. Local desktop servers go through a separate route.
  • Supported auth. OAuth with dynamic client registration (DCR) or CIMD, or no auth.
  • Tool titles and hints. Every tool needs a title and a correct readOnlyHint or destructiveHint. Tool names are 64 characters or fewer.
  • Listing copy. Server name up to 100 characters, a tagline, a description up to 2,000 characters and 1 to 5 categories.
  • Links and assets. Docs URL, privacy policy, support contact and an icon. A missing privacy policy means instant rejection.
  • A test account. Credentials for a fully populated account, so reviewers can try every tool.

Copy patterns from real connector description examples before you write your listing. Once listed, use Claude connector optimization to climb the ranks.

How to submit a Claude connector, step by step

Test it yourself first, then send it for review.

  1. Test your server as a custom connector. In Claude, go to Settings, then Connectors, and add your server URL. Run each tool with real prompts.
  2. Open your organization settings and find the directory submission page.
  3. Fill the listing fields: name, tagline, description, categories, docs URL, privacy policy, support contact and icon.
  4. Add auth details and test credentials for the reviewers.
  5. Submit the form and accept the seven compliance points. All seven are required.
  6. Answer reviewer questions until the review closes.

Community vs verified Claude connectors

Two levels of review.

Servers that pass review enter the directory as community connectors. Some later go through a longer verified review. Of the 734 connectors listed on 2026-10-03, 729 are marked as partner-built and 5 as built by Anthropic.

Adding an interactive MCP App to your connector

If your server returns an interactive UI, such as a chart or form, Anthropic asks for 3 to 5 PNG screenshots at least 1,000 pixels wide. Crop each one to the app's response, with no prompt in the image, and give the prompt text that goes with it. Learn what MCP apps are.

After you are listed: get your connector found

Users find connectors in three ways: directory search, category pages, and Claude bringing a connected app into a chat when it fits the task. Once you are live, improve your Claude marketplace listing with tracking and fixes. gaintage shows your rank in search and categories and lists the fixes for each field.
